Alex Sorgente is a powerhouse from South Florida whose fast, fearless skating show’s he’s got danger in his blood. His Italian father was a professional jet-ski racer, so when Alex first picked up a skateboard, he was naturally interested in going fast. Alex also learned quickly, winning the Juniors Division of the Quiksilver Bowlriders contest at just eight years old.
Since then, he has been busy traveling the world and picking up victories at events such as the X Games, including back-to-back Gold medals in 2016 and 2017, and the Vans Park Series, where in 2018 he won in China and took the series overall. The 2019 Vans Park Series yielded a 3rd place in Minneapolis and 2nd in Salt Lake City, suggesting even greater things to come, just as contests and events took a hiatus during the 2020 pandemic.
Though starting 2021 with a top-ten World Ranking, don’t mark Alex off as solely a park-terrain skater. He regularly joins friends to session some of the gnarliest handrails in Southern California, and has also been seen on a Big Air ramp now and then. In between skate trips, Alex likes to unwind with either a day of surfing or riding dirt bikes. But whatever he chooses, you can bet that even Alex’s R&R will involve some danger.
