Louie Lopez grew up in Hawthorne, California and started skating when he was 5 years old. His local skatepark was one of the only parks in LA that had lights, so Louie would see lots of pros come through. And they obviously saw him, because within a few years, Louie was riding for Flip.
By age 12, it became apparent that Louie was blessed with supernatural skateboarding abilities, so he began entering contests. At 15, he dropped his first major part in Flip’s Extremely Sorry video in 2009. Over the years, he continued entering amateur contests and making a name for himself on tours and in videos.
After turning pro, Louie won Tampa Pro in 2017, followed by a 5th-place finish there the following year. In 2019, he finished 3rd at the USA Skateboarding National Championships and 2nd at the Grotto Lotto in Portland. He has one of the most admired styles in skateboarding, and having been a member of the inaugural USA Skateboarding Men’s Street National Team in 2019, Louie makes his valiant return to the squad in 2021.
