Tom Schaar was the youngest person to ever pull a 900 on a skateboard, then the first person to ever pull a 1080 on a skateboard, then the youngest person to ever win an X Games Gold medal (12), and then the youngest to win the Dew Tour (13). His life has been full of “youngest evers,” and by the looks of his resume, there are no plans to slow down. His fast, flowing style and deep bag of tricks make Tom one of the most entertaining skaters to watch.
It’s clear that the judges agree, too, as Tom is no stranger to the podium, placing in practically every single major skateboarding event on the planet. He took X Games Silver medals in Men’s Park and Big Air in 2017, a Big Air Gold in 2014, and won the Vans Pool Party in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019, making him the only person ever to win it four times. It’s not surprising, then, that Forbes magazine named Tom on its “30 Under 30 To Watch” list in 2020.
Beyond his skating, Tom has been a generous philanthropist from an early age, donating his dollars and time over the years to several causes, like The Skatepark Project, Arthritis Foundation, Grind For Life, Feeding America, and others. Tom has been a member of the USA Skateboarding Men’s Park National Team since its inception in 2019.
