American Cory Juneau wins Men’s Park title at the World Skate Oi STU Open in Brazil as USA sweeps podium; Jake Ilardi takes second in Men’s Street

Orange County, Calif. (November 20, 2019) — The first global events of the second season of Olympic Skateboarding qualifying began this week at the World Skate Oi STU Open Park and Street competitions in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The USA took the top 5 spots in Men’s Park with USA Skateboarding’s Cory Juneau taking the win, followed by Jagger Eaton, Ben Hatchell, Tom Schaar and Alex Sorgente, while USA’s Jake Ilardi made the podium with a 2nd place in Men’s Street.

In Women’s Park, Brighton Zeuner took 4th; Jordyn Barratt (in her first competition since returning from injury) qualified 1st and placed 6th in the finals; and Bryce Wettstein landed in 8th.
In Men’s Street, USA Skateboarding’s Dashawn Jordan took 4th, while Nyjah Huston, who qualified 1st, ended up in 7th place after injuring his foot during the finals.
In Women’s Street, USA Skateboarding’s Alexis Sablone and Mariah Duran placed 7th and 8th, respectively.
