USA Skateboarding athletes bring home Gold and Bronze in the park divisions at the Pan American Games. Taylor Nye was able to secure gold for USA ahead of Brazil and Puerto Rico. Nye had the spectators on their feet as he put down an 86.68 on this first run. Taking the pressure off early he was able to hold the lead throughout the duration of the contest. Bryce Wettstein took the bronze with 79.95 points on her first attempt behind Canada and Brazil. Bryce has been within the top 3 of the World Skate rankings consistently, so it was no surprise to see her performance land her on podium.

Taylor told Olympics.com afterwards, "I was trying to do a lot of flip tricks, trying to maneuver my board around a little bit and just keep a flowy line and it ended up working on my first run. "I've known Augusto for a long time. He is one of my favorite skateboarders and he is so good. I'm just happy to be sharing the podium with him."

This was USA's 3rd skateboarding medal in Santiago after Bryce Wettstein took women's park bronze with Paige Heyn also winning bronze in women's street.
