Irvine, Calif. (December 15, 2020) — Together with skater and illustrator Henry Jones, USA Skateboarding (USAS) presents a limited edition anti-racism-themed merchandise capsule supporting Stoked Mentoring, the Harold Hunter Foundation, and USA Skateboarding.

USA Skateboarding and the skateboarding culture represent a diverse community, the passion and the responsibility we have to make everyone feel safe, protected, included and heard, is paramount.

For the Henry Jones collection, USAS is collaborating with two organizations supporting youth in their communities. Ten percent of the net proceeds from the collection will be donated to Stoked Mentoring and the Harold Hunter Foundation. The collection consists of a skateboard deck, two t-shirts, a hat, graphic griptape, stickers, and a mug.

As part of an ongoing effort to eliminate racism and discrimination, USA Skateboarding has appointed Dr. Neftalie Williams as head of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

“Fighting racism requires specific dedicated effort. Our Henry Jones collection and the appointment of Dr. Neftalie Williams to lead our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee are USA Skateboarding’s first initiatives towards combatting racism as an organization” said Josh Friedberg, CEO, USA Skateboarding. “Henry’s art has a way of laying bare complex topics in an engaging way, it was an honor working with him on our first artist merch collection. We’re proud to be able to support the Harold Hunter Foundation and STOKED Mentoring, two non-profits enriching the lives of young people through skateboarding, with 10% of the net proceeds from our Henry Jones collection.”

STOKED mentors kids using board sports as a tool to succeed, closing the opportunity gap for youth with a 100% graduation rate for participants.

"We're thrilled and honored to be part of this collaboration,” said Steve Larosiliere, President, STOKED. “Working with USA Skateboarding to promote the culture and lifestyle of skateboarding is exciting and beneficial because we've seen the transformational impact it's had on underserved youth.”

The Harold Hunter Foundation is a grassroots, skateboard community-based organization that provides support, opportunity, and advocacy for skateboarders in NYC and beyond so they can reach their full potential as skateboarders and as people.

“We truly appreciate the support of USA Skateboarding and are honored to have our efforts within the skateboarding community recognized through this unique collaboration featuring an artist we admire,” said Jessica Forsyth, Harold Hunter Foundation Co-Founder & Executive Director.“HHF and USAS have a shared mission of supporting skateboarding and the surrounding lifestyle. Donations from this project will enable us to continue the impactful work we deliver to NYC youth on a year-round basis.”
