What the Online Contest Means in the USA Skateboarding Amateur Series
The Online Contest serves as the digital entry point to the USA Skateboarding Amateur Series, making it easier for skaters across the country—and the world—to participate in a sanctioned event without traveling. As one of the five regional qualifiers in the series, the Online Contest allows athletes to earn up to 800 points toward their annual ranking, which is calculated using a skater's best regional result combined with their National Championship score. It features the same division structure as in-person events, including all age groups, Amateur Open Class, and Adaptive Open (Men’s & Women’s Street only), across the disciplines of Street, Park, and Vert.
While slightly lower in point value than the in-person regionals, the Online Contest is especially important for skaters who may not have access to travel or live events. It provides a legitimate pathway to qualify for the National Championship and a chance to appear in the national rankings database. For younger or newer competitors, it’s also a low-barrier opportunity to experience the judging criteria, competition format, and community engagement that define the series. Submissions are reviewed by official USA Skateboarding judges and must follow clear guidelines for footage and format.
Participation in the Online Contest requires a valid 2025 USA Skateboarding Membership, and all entries must be filmed and submitted within the designated contest window. By bridging digital accessibility with national competition standards, the Online Contest ensures that every skater—regardless of location—has a chance to start their journey through the USA Skateboarding Amateur pathway.
